How to play Bmaj7 on ukulele
Shape 1, 3-3-2-2, reading from the G string on the left, starts at the 2nd fret:
- Index finger: E string, 2nd fret (F♯).
- Middle finger: A string, 2nd fret (B).
- Ring finger: G string, 3rd fret (A♯).
- Pinky: C string, 3rd fret (D♯).
- The pinky takes a note here. Keep it curved and close to the fretboard between chords so it has less distance to travel.
- Strum with the pad of your index finger or thumb, all four strings, across the spot where the neck meets the body.

- 8-10-7-9: movable shape at the 7th fret, medium. A high voicing for when the low version is taken by another instrument.
Bmaj7 the capo way
No barre needed if a capo is allowed: capo on the 2nd fret and play the open Amaj7 shape (1-1-0-0), capo on the 4th fret and play the open Gmaj7 shape (0-2-2-2) or capo on the 6th fret and play the open Fmaj7 shape (2-4-1-3). The chord sounds as Bmaj7 because the capo raises every string by 2 half steps.
