How to play E♭m7 on ukulele
Shape 1, 3-3-2-4, reading from the G string on the left, starts at the 2nd fret:
- G♭: index finger, 2nd fret of the E string.
- B♭: middle finger, 3rd fret of the G string.
- E♭: ring finger, 3rd fret of the C string.
- D♭: pinky finger, 4th fret of the A string.
- This shape uses your pinky. It feels weak at first; press with the tip and let the finger stay curved.
- Strum with the pad of your index finger or thumb, all four strings, across the spot where the neck meets the body.

Playing E♭m7 with a capo
No barre needed if a capo is allowed: capo on the 1st fret and play the open Dm7 shape (2-2-1-3), capo on the 4th fret and play the open Bm7 shape (2-2-2-2) or capo on the 6th fret and play the open Am7 shape (0-0-0-0). The chord sounds as E♭m7 because the capo raises every string by a half step.
